This is your Mission if you choose to accept it. The Diamondback Mission both lays and supports the "all-mountain" foundation amongst Diamondback's full-suspension line. Essentially unchanged since its inception in 2007, the Diamondback Mission is built to offer you the range, reliability and flexibility needed to truly ride the entire mountain. While there are four separate Mission models, each model is perfectly capable of standing on its own. This is impressive for two reasons. First, the Mission has only two wheels and no kickstand. Second, each Mission has been coronated with a weapons-grade aluminum frame and Diamondback's piEce de rEsistance , the Knuckle Box. Combining the martial metal frame material and manipulating the pivot locations of the Knuckle Box design, Diamondback has created a frame that "has very low chain growth values, resulting in imperceptible to non-existent pedal feedback." However, while it would be a mistake to assume the Mission 1 inferior, the true differences between the Mission models are seen in the varying components. For example, the Mission 1 all-mountain bike has been equipped with SRAM X-5/X-7 shifters and derailleurs, a Truvativ Power Spline bottom bracket, a Easton EA30 stem/seatpost and a DB SL318b oversize 31.8mm handlebar.
